In support of the nationwide observance of National Women’s Month, the Philippine Ports Authority – Port Management Office (PPA-PMO) Agusan actively participated in the 2026 National Women’s Month Kick-Off Ceremony held on March 2, 2026, at Caraga State University.
The activity was attended by PMO personnel led by Acting Port Manager Atty. Kahlil L. Lamigo, reaffirming the Office’s commitment to promoting gender equality, inclusivity, and women empowerment in both the workplace and the community.
The celebration commenced with a motorcade, followed by opening ceremonies, messages from regional leaders, and a keynote address highlighting the importance of collaboration in advancing inclusive and gender-responsive initiatives.
One of the highlights of the event was the session on Gender-Fair Language and Reporting, facilitated by Mr. Edson B. Alijo of the Commission on Human Rights. The session stressed the importance of respectful and inclusive communication and highlighted the media’s vital role in shaping societal views and perceptions of women and men.
As part of its support for the month-long observance, PMO Agusan also installed National Women’s Month tarpaulins at the Ports of Nasipit, Butuan, and Masao, signifying the Office’s solidarity and active participation in the nationwide celebration.
