PMO Agusan successfully concluded the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) on December 12, 2025 with a Reorientation on Gender-Fair Language held at the PMO Multipurpose Hall, Port of Nasipit.

Acting Port Manager and GADFPS Chairperson Atty. Kahlil L. Lamigo emphasized that respect, inclusive communication, and a safe environment for all genders must remain integral to the PMOโ€™s culture. He encouraged all personnel to cultivate mindfulness in their daily interactions and to consistently uphold the values of respect and gender sensitivity in the workplace.

The session was facilitated by Ms. Bernelou A. Joven, Executive Assistant A and GADFPS TWG Head, and Ms. Gemma G. Cesar, Administrative Division Manager and GADFPS Member, who served as Resource Persons. They guided participants through the principles and practical application of gender-fair language in government correspondence, communication materials, and workplace interactions, emphasizing that its use reflects PPAโ€™s commitment to advancing the GAD advocacy. They explained that choosing respectful and inclusive language helps reduce gender bias, promotes equitable practices, and fosters a work culture where everyone feels valued and safe, and encouraged personnel to integrate these practices into their daily communication as part of PMO Agusanโ€™s efforts to build a gender-responsive and inclusive port community.

In his closing message, Mr. Lemuel Ian T. Moralda, Port Services Division Manager and GADFPS Member, reiterated the importance of respect in professional interactions and urged everyone to continue supporting the advocacy beyond the official campaign period.

Throughout the 18-day observance, PMO Agusan advanced its advocacy through various initiatives, including the wearing of GAD orange shirts every Friday, playing the All-Women Lupang Hinirang and the PMO Safe Spaces Pledge during flag ceremonies, and installing an orange-themed exhibit, banners, and tarpaulins to raise awareness across the port community. Several PMO personnel also participated in the 18-day campaign activities spearheaded by RIACAT-VAWC at the Caraga State University auditorium.
