The Philippine Ports Authority โ Port Management Office (PMO) Agusan successfully concluded its three-day Public Service Continuity Planning (PSCP) Workshop held from December 10 to 12, 2025, at the PMO Multipurpose Hall, Port of Nasipit. A total of 31 PMO Agusan personnel participated in the activity, which aimed to strengthen the officeโs preparedness, resilience, and ability to sustain essential port operations during emergencies or operational disruptions.
The workshop opened with a message from Acting Port Manager Atty. Kahlil L. Lamigo, who emphasized that continuity planning is essential to ensuring that critical port services remain functional amid unforeseen events. He urged participants to view the PSCP not merely as a compliance requirement but as a proactive investment in PMO Agusanโs resilience, noting that a strong continuity plan enables the organization to recover swiftly, serve the public reliably, and uphold its mandate even in the face of adversity.
Over the three-day workshop, PMO personnel first tackled the foundational components of the PSCP, including its purpose, scope, policies, roles, assumptions, and risk assessment, before developing initial outputs that were refined through plenary discussions. They then identified the organizationโs Mission Essential Functions (MEFs), set Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs), and examined activation protocols, resource requirements, continuity strategies, succession arrangements, and facility planning. On the final day, groups consolidated and enhanced their outputs with guidance from OCDโCaraga Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and PMO Chief Safety Officer Mr. Rezon A. Manal, followed by discussions on communication procedures, PSCP testing and maintenance, approval mechanisms, and the โWays Forwardโ toward full plan institutionalization.
The activity concluded with a closing message from Port Services Division Manager Mr. Lemuel Ian T. Moralda, who commended the participants for their dedication and emphasized the importance of continuous capacity building to reinforce organizational resilience.
PMO Agusan reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its public service continuity framework and extends its sincere gratitude to the Office of Civil Defense – Caraga for their steadfast support and technical guidance throughout the successful conduct of the workshop.
