Five personnel from PPA PMO Agusan successfully completed a four-day training on Standard First Aid and Basic Life SupportโCardiopulmonary Resuscitation with Automated External Defibrillator (BLS-CPR with AED), held from April 22 to 25, 2025, at the Philippine Red Cross Agusan del NorteโButuan City Chapter. Conducted by the Philippine Red Cross, the training aimed to enhance participantsโ life-saving skills through a combination of lectures, hands-on exercises, and assessments.
The first half of the training focused on theoretical discussions, while the latter days were dedicated to hands-on exercises involving first aid procedures, CPR techniques, rescue operations, and emergency response simulations. The program culminated in a final examination and practical demonstrations, where participants were evaluated on their ability to respond effectively to various emergency scenarios.
The five PMO Agusan personnel included three Port Police Officers and one representative each from the Administrative Division and the Engineering Services Division (ESD). Mr. George Sherman Tortola of ESD was recognized as โBest in Lifting and Movingโ for his exemplary performance during the simulation exercises.
All 41 participants from various government and private agencies received Certificates of Completion, valid for two years as Certified Standard First Aiders. This initiative reflects PMO Agusanโs ongoing commitment to strengthening its personnelโs emergency response readiness and upholding safety standards across its port facilities.
