Reaffirming its commitment to health education and responsible parenthood, the Philippine Ports Authority โ€“ Port Management Office of Agusan conducted a Reproductive Health Re-Echo Session on August 8, 2025, at the PMO Multi-Purpose Hall, Port of Nasipit, in observance of Family Planning Month. The activity was attended by selected organic and Contract of Service (COS) personnel.

The session aimed to strengthen awareness on reproductive health and highlights the importance of informed family planning decisions. It supports the advocacy of Family Planning Month, which seeks to reach millions of Filipino adults with information on accessible reproductive health services. Central to the campaign is the promotion of various contraceptive options and the encouragement of male involvement in family planning conversationsโ€”fostering inclusive and informed decision-making among couples and families.

The re-echo session was based on the PPA Gender and Development (GAD) Reproductive Health Seminar, facilitated by speakers from the Population Commission, anchored on Republic Act No. 10354, or the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Law. The law mandates healthcare providers and government institutions to deliver public education campaigns to correct misconceptions and reduce stigma surrounding family planning.

This initiative is part of PMO Agusanโ€™s PMO CARES (Positive Mindset and Outlook: Cultivating Awareness, Resilience, and Emotional Support) program, which aims to promote safe sexual practices, reproductive rights, awareness of sexually transmitted infections, and the prevention of unintended pregnancies.
