The Gender and Development Focal Point System (GADFPS) members of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) Port Management Office (PMO) of Agusan participated in the 2026 Caraga Womenโs Summit held on March 9, 2026 at Balanghai Hotel, Butuan City.
The summit served as a valuable platform for womenโs empowerment, fostering learning and collaboration through a series of knowledge-sharing and capacity-building sessions. Discussions focused on key topics affecting women, including the Safe Spaces Act, cervical cancer prevention, the PhilHealth YAKAP Package, consumer rights protection, gender statistics, and psychosocial well-being and mental health. Participants also witnessed a barista skills demonstration highlighting practical livelihood opportunities. These sessions aimed to equip women with essential information, strengthen their capacities, and promote their protection and overall well-being across various sectors.
The summit likewise featured a vibrant trade fair showcasing innovative products and services from various government agencies and local entrepreneurs. Pampering services were also provided as a token of appreciation, honoring the invaluable contributions of women who continue to champion progress and positive change in their communities.
The activity reaffirmed the continuing commitment of participating institutions, including PPA PMO Agusan, to advancing gender equality and supporting initiatives that promote womenโs empowerment in the region.
