The Port Management Office (PMO) of Agusan, through its Port Services Division (PSD), won first place in the Philippine Statistics Authorityโs (PSA) National STATikTok Infomercial Contest, announced during the opening of the 35th National Statistics Month (NSM) on October 1, 2024, at Luxent Hotel in Quezon City. The formal awarding ceremony took place on October 29, 2024, during the PSA Region XIII NSM Closing Ceremony at The Pavilion, Watergate Hotel, in Butuan City.
PMO Agusanโs winning entry, titled โDigitalizing Port Statistics for Smarter Trade,โ stood out among 23 entries from schools, Local Government Units (LGUs), and government agencies nationwide. The three-minute infomercial highlighted key inbound and outbound commodities handled at Nasipit Port and showcased the Internet-Based Port Operations and Receipting for Terminal Systems (iPORTS). It also emphasized the importance of publishing port statistics on the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) website to improve public access to port data and illustrated how technology is streamlining data for broader accessibility.
PMO Agusan Port Manager Mildred J. Padilla, PSD Manager Lemuel Ian T. Moralda, and team members accepted the award on behalf of PMO Agusan, celebrating the victory as a milestone in the Authorityโs efforts toward digital transformation.
The contest, part of PSAโs activities for the 35th NSM themed โAdvancing Data and Statistics through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation,โ highlighted the impact of digital innovations in providing timely, accessible data.
