The Port Management Office (PMO) of Agusan proudly welcomed the MV Kapitan Gregorio Oca on August 11, 2024, marking its first visit to Nasipit Port. Operated by the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) in Bataan, the training vessel arrived with 136 maritime students and a full complement of internationally qualified officers and crew members.

Named after MAAP founder Gregorio Oca, the vessel is designed to provide structured onboarding training for cadets before their international internships. With a Gross Register Tonnage of 2,098 metric tons and an overall length of 78.6 meters, it offers practical training in navigation, port approaches, and docking/undocking procedures.

The MV Kapitan Gregorio Oca is scheduled to depart Nasipit Port and return to Mariveles, Bataan, today, August 13, 2024.
