To further strengthen port security measures and enhance overall operational readiness, the Port Police Division of PPA PMO Agusan successfully conducted a security drill on November 13, 2025, at Nasipit Port to assess the effectiveness of access control and screening procedures within the IPACC area. The activity aimed to ensure that frontline personnel remain vigilant and fully prepared to respond to potential threats.

During the drill, Baggage Security Screening Machine Operators (BSSMO) from Commander Security Services Inc. (CSSI) detected and intercepted prohibited items, including a replica Magnum revolver and a bladed weapon concealed by a passenger bound for Bohol. In both instances, personnel on duty immediately implemented the prescribed procedures under PPA Memorandum Circular No. 05-2021, ensuring the safe isolation of the individuals involved, proper securing of the items, and their prompt turnover to the Port Police Division.

The exercise served as a venue to evaluate the responsiveness and coordination among screening personnel, port police, and other security providers. Results showed that Nasipit Portโ€™s security team is well-trained and capable of managing real-life security scenarios with discipline and efficiency.

The drill also reinforced the importance of continuous capacity building and regular exercises to strengthen operational readiness and ensure compliance with the Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) and ISPS Code, as Nasipit Port remains committed to providing a safe and secure gateway for passengers, port workers, and stakeholders.
