The Port Management Office (PMO) of Agusan successfully participated in the 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) for CY 2025, held simultaneously across the country today, June 19, 2025. The drill was conducted at the Port Operations Building in Nasipit Port, including PMO Agusanโs Terminal Management Offices (TMOs) in Masao and Butuan.
As part of the nationwide initiative led by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), the activity aimed to enhance disaster preparedness and institutional readiness among government agencies and private entities. PMO personnel carried out the โduck, cover, and holdโ technique, followed by a coordinated evacuation drill to designated safety zones.
The exercise reinforced emergency response protocols and assessed personnelโs readiness in the event of a real earthquake. It also highlighted the importance of continuous training and a proactive safety culture in the workplace.
PMO Agusan remains steadfast in its support for national disaster risk reduction efforts. Beyond compliance for CY 2025, the office continues to uphold a long-term commitment to cultivating a culture of safety, resilience, and proactive emergency preparedness across all levels of port operations.
