The Port Management Office (PMO) of Agusan actively participated in the 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) for CY 2025, held nationwide on September 11, 2025. The activity was conducted at the Port Operations Building in Nasipit Port, with simultaneous participation from PMO Agusanโs Terminal Management Offices (TMOs) in Masao and Butuan.
Spearheaded by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), the drill went beyond routine compliance, underscoring the officeโs continuing efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and resilience. It served as a vital reminder that simple, practiced actions can save lives during actual emergencies. PMO Agusan personnel carried out the standard โduck, cover, and holdโ procedure, followed by an organized evacuation to designated safe zones.
For PMO Agusan, every earthquake drill provides an opportunity to reinforce emergency response protocols, assess preparedness, and cultivate a culture of safety across all levels of port operations. Beyond quarterly drills, the office remains committed to integrating disaster awareness and proactive risk reduction measures into daily operations, ensuring that its personnel, facilities, and stakeholders are better protected when hazards strike.
