Marking a milestone in its academic partnership initiatives, the Philippine Ports Authority – Port Management Office (PMO) of Agusan hosted the first batch of Criminology interns from Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU), who successfully completed their On-the-Job Training (OJT) from February 2 to 17, 2026, rendering a total of 80 training hours.

Prior to deployment, the interns attended an orientation led by Station Commander PPSUPT Samuel G. Razon at the PMO Multi-Purpose Hall, where they were briefed on port operations, workplace protocols, safety regulations, and professional conduct. They also underwent orientation with the Port Police Division and participated in a Maritime Security Awareness Training, which included demonstrations of firearms handling and bulletproof equipment, as well as a table-top exercise simulating port security scenarios.

For practical exposure, the interns were assigned in groups to key operational areas such as the Integrated Port Access and Control Center (IPACC), Port User X-Ray, Passenger X-Ray, Gate 4N, and the Port Police Division Office. They also took part in physical exercises and joined a shipboard tour, providing them with firsthand exposure to actual port operations and vessel security procedures.

The OJT program equipped the interns with valuable hands-on experience in maritime security and law enforcement, enhancing their skills, discipline, and professional competence in the field of criminology, while strengthening collaboration between the Philippine Ports Authority and academic institutions in preparing future professionals.
