Plans for port expansion, infrastructure development, and strengthened security measures were highlighted as the Port Management Office (PMO) of Agusan convened the Third Quarter Joint Port Management Advisory Council (PMAC) and Port Facility Security Advisory Committee (PFSAC) Meeting for CY 2025 on September 10 at the PMO Multipurpose Hall.

The meeting gathered representatives from shipping lines, partner maritime and law enforcement agencies, harbor pilots, terminal operators Globalport Agusan Terminal Inc. (GATI) and Concord Arrastre & Stevedoring Corp. (CASCOR), as well as officials from Barangay Talisay, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Nasipit, and other port stakeholders.

Presided over by Council Chairperson and Acting Port Manager Atty. Kahlil L. Lamigo, the session tackled key agenda items, including the Masao Port Expansion and Improvement Project, the proposed Port Zone Delineation (PZD) of the Port of Nasipit, and the Port Development Master Plan. Updates were also presented on the PMOโ€™s second-quarter 2025 operational performance, weighbridge services at Nasipit Port, navigational safety protocols for vessels, and new issuances on passenger vessel capacity and ancillary service provider endorsements. The Port Police Division likewise reported on enhanced vigilance measures and reiterated port security responsibilities under the PTMRF.

Terminal operators GATI and CASCOR reported their second-quarter accomplishments and outlined plans for 2025, reaffirming their role in advancing port operations. Announcements were also made on PMO-Agusanโ€™s designation as the Ceremonial Site for the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill and on preparations for the 2025 National Maritime Week celebration.

In his closing message, Atty. Lamigo thanked the council members for their active participation and support, emphasizing that collective effort and collaboration are vital to achieving PMO Agusanโ€™s development goals.
