The Philippine Ports Authority โ Port Management Office of Agusan has been granted two renewed Statements of Compliance of a Port Facility (SoCPF) by the Office for Transportation Security (OTS), following an official audit conducted from March 17 to 21, 2025. The certifications, issued for the Port of Nasipit and the Port of Masao are valid from May 6, 2025, to May 5, 2030, confirming that both facilities meet the requirements of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
During the audit, the OTS team verified that security measures implemented across the two facilities met international standards under the ISPS Code. Minor deficiencies identified were swiftly addressed through a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) submitted by the respective Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO), ensuring sustained adherence to security protocols.
The Port of Masao, which was authorized in 2020 to accommodate roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) and cargo vessels, received additional clearance this year to serve Ro-Ro/passenger vessels as well. This development marks a significant milestone, as the port transitions from compliance with the National Security Program for Sea Transport and Maritime Infrastructure (NSPSTMI)โthe framework governing domestic port securityโto full compliance with the ISPS Code, signifying its elevation to international maritime security standards.
This milestone underscores PPA PMO Agusanโs commitment to strengthening port security, enhancing operational safety, and supporting the secure and efficient movement of vessels and cargo within Philippine waters.
