As part of the governmentโs intensified disaster preparedness efforts, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga conducted an ocular inspection on July 8, 2025 at the Port of Nasipit. The visit aligns with the ongoing partnership between PPA and DSWD aimed at prepositioning Ready-to-Eat Food (RTEF) and Family Food Packs (FFPs) in key logistical sites across the region.
The inspection focused on evaluating the portโs readiness to serve as a storage and staging hub for RTEF packs, which are intended for immediate use during emergencies or distribution to stranded travelers. DSWD representatives assessed the portโs storage facilities, evaluating capacity, structural integrity, accessibility, and overall suitability for short-term warehousing and rapid dispatch of relief goods.
PMO Agusan expressed its full support for the initiative, recognizing the vital role ports play in enabling the swift and efficient delivery of food assistance, especially during disasters and transportation disruptions.
This collaboration between DSWD Caraga and PPA PMO Agusan is expected to strengthen the regionโs emergency food supply network. It will also help streamline logistics operations, ensuring that essential food packs are readily available and delivered without delay to those affected by emergencies.
